How to Ask For a Raise

Most of us are familiar with the frustration that comes with waiting for a raise. You donít want to ask directly because youíre afraid it may cause problems and your boss hasnít exactly initiated the conversation, either. HR services can only get you so far and walking that tightrope can be tricky.

How do you ask for a raise without creating problems? Is that even possible?

    There is absolutely nothing wrong with taking the initiative and asking for a raise if you feel you deserve it. Make sure you're prepared by making a good case for it and researching what your position should be paying in the current market.

    Trust me, if you wait to see if your employer will offer the raise, you could be waiting a long time.
