If you have been looking for an affordable laptop, netbooks are a good choice.

I am trying to convince my mom-in-law that a netbook can get her on the internet without costing an arm and a leg. She's afraid of the technology, which is what leads to her reluctance, but the fact is that it's no longer a cost-prohibitive proposition. I hope that we can get some insurance that she will consider it, because we live overseas and want her to be able to see her grand-daughter - at least digitally!
